Seventeen year old Shawn Kodejs of Hammonds Plains, NS has survived the final round of cuts and has been selected to play for the Toronto FC Academy team in Ontario. The TFC Academy (U18's) will play in the Canadian Soccer League (CSL), a semi-professional league in Ontario, and will face the likes of Toronto Croatia, and the Serbian White Eagles.
Kodejs has spent time in the Halifax County United, and Scotia S.C. youth systems. This past summer he was a member of the powerhouse Halifax Dunbrack Premiership men's team. Mainly positioned as a fullback, the versatile player has also seen time in the midfield.
Shawn has been a long time member of the Canadian National Training in Halifax and has represented Nova Scotia on numerous provincial teams and most recently at the 2005 Canada Games.
The Toronto FC Academy's purpose is to provide elite young Canadian soccer players with an opportunity to reach their technical, tactical, mental, and physical potential. The Academy is the first stepping stone for young players with aspirations of playing professional soccer within the Toronto FC.
Toronto FC is the only canadian based team playing in Major League Soccer (MLS). The top professional league in North America.
