Derek Gaudet of Bayside, Nova Scotia has officially signed a professional contract with Toronto FC of Major League Soccer (MLS). Details of the contract are not available.

Gaudet has been designated as a developmental player which means he is eligible for both the first team and the reserve team, and his salary does not count against the MLS salary cap limitations.

Derek, aged 19, has been a stand-out in the Nova Scotia Soccer League Eastlink Men's Premiership division for the past two seasons. He has also featured on numerous Canadian Youth National teams, as well as Nova Scotia provincial teams.
