My name is Peter McCormick (Bedford, NS) and I have been married to my wife Anne for 25 GREAT years ! We have four kids: Beth, Ali (in the picture with me), Colin , and Adrienne. When I am not spending time with my family, and when I am not working, I am on my bike or coaching soccer...two of my other loves!

I am joining 72 other Canadians in the experience of a lifetime. In October 2008 I will be embarking on a 4300 km journey by bike to raise money for Ovarian & Pancreatic Cancer. The ride is coordinated thru the Tony Griffin Foundation in Canada (http://www.tonygriffinfoundation.com/). I will join 72 riders (12 teams of 6 riders) from Halifax to Austin Texas.

Over the past several years I have competed in Triathlons, Duathlons & Adventure races. This is a very new and exciting challenge for me. I am very much looking forward to the bike ride to Texas, but I am also very much looking forward to the challenge of raising $10,000.00 to help in the fight against cancer.

Our group will also get the opportunity to meet Lance Armstrong and be part of his Livestrong Challenge in Austin Texas on Oct 25. The plan is to get Lance to autograph all of our bike jersey's and then auction them off at some point to raise more money for cancer research.

Over 90 individuals and businesses have already made a contribution, many from our local soccer community (click donation link to see a list of donators), perhaps you know some of them.
