| Halifax’s Rachael Swetnam has been named to Canada’s soccer entry at this summer’s World University Games in Belgrade, Serbia.
The University of Ottawa midfielder is one of 21 players named to the Team Canada roster. Laura Breen of Memorial was also selected.
Swetnam, a two-time first-team Ontario conference all-star with the Gee Gees, led the Halifax City Salty’s to gold at the 2008 Canadian senior women’s soccer championship in St. John’s last October.
The Summer Universiade takes place July 1-12 in the Serbian capital.
