2009 CCAA Women's Soccer Coach of the Year

Michael Hunter

Mount Saint Vincent University’s Amit Batra, is the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association 2009 Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year.

Amit focused his energy this season on the overall fitness of his team, as well as improving the girls technically and strategically.  Attention went into recruiting and retaining strong student athletes that excel in the classroom and on the field.  Those efforts paid off and led to a season record of 10-2-0, and capturing the ACAA Provincial title.

Amit has created an environment that challenges the student athletes to push themselves to be the best they can be.  Coach Batra expects his student-athletes to work hard every day and is there to support them.  His strong communication skills help him relate well with his student-athletes.    Equally important, Amit has surrounded himself with a great coaching staff, who compliment one another providing a strong learning environment for the team.

The Mystics will be vying for gold at the 2009 Big Kahuna/adidas Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) Women’s Soccer National Championships.

Coach of the Year recipients receive a CCAA customized ring provided by Jostens Canada, the Official Ring supplier of the CCAA Championship Awards Banquet.
